LinkedIn’s updated analytics show which posts reach beyond your network
LinkedIn is adding more context to creators’ performance numbers, including whether content views come from connections or people outside their network. Social Media Today reports that LinkedIn’s Director of Product, Content, Sam Corrao Clannon shared details of the analytics updates following last month’s broader creator-tools announcement.
For video creators who publish professional or educational content on LinkedIn, the network breakdown offers a useful question to investigate: is a post mainly serving people you’re already connected with, or reaching beyond that circle? Total views alone don’t answer that. The new breakdown could help you compare those patterns when deciding which topics to revisit.
The updated followers-gained metric adds another layer: creators can see profiles of specific members who followed from a post. If you’re trying to build an audience around a particular field, looking at those profiles could help you judge whether a topic is attracting the people you intended to serve. That’s a suggested use of the data, not evidence that any particular format will grow your audience.

LinkedIn’s new Post Performance Table also puts post information alongside impressions, views and watch time in one listing. According to Corrao Clannon, this removes the need to open each post’s analytics separately to compare those metrics. Saves and Sends adds counts of people who bookmarked a post or sent it to a friend.
The report describes these as added or updated features, but doesn’t specify account eligibility or a complete rollout schedule. LinkedIn says it will assess how creators use the metrics to guide further improvements. For now, the concrete benefit is more context for evaluating posts—not a new promise of distribution or earnings.
