Art Style Spike: Publish First
A fast experiment video where you “build” an art style in real time by remixing 3 constraints (shapes, line, color) across the same subject.
Most people treat “art style” like a personality trait. You’ll show it’s more like a recipe you can change on purpose.
- 3 quick redraws of the exact same character/object
- A one-page “style recipe” card (shapes / lines / colors)
- Timelapse + real-time commentary on 1 drawing
- Side-by-side comparisons + a final 9-tile grid
- Your reference moodboard (blurred if needed)
Viewers leave with a repeatable way to stop feeling “style-less” and a simple method to generate an art style they can stick to.
SIGNAL
“Art style” is spiking because creators are stuck between two pains: they hate their current look, and they don’t know what to change without copying. The early edge: publish the *process* (a style recipe you can prove on camera), not a vague pep talk.
CREATOR ANGLE
Make the video a visible proof challenge: “I’ll design an art style in 30 minutes using only 3 knobs—and you’ll see the before/after.”
Packaging options (pick one):
1) Title: "Build An Art Style In 30 Minutes (3 Rules)"
2) Thumbnail angle: Split screen “Before” vs “After” + a big sticky note: “SHAPES / LINES / COLOR”
Anti-pattern: Don’t define “art style” for 2 minutes before drawing anything.
SHIP TODAY
Format + length: 6–8 min drawing + teardown.
Hook line to open on camera: "If your art style feels boring, you don’t need talent—you need constraints. Watch this."
Filming plan (do this):
- Start on the “boring” baseline sketch (10 seconds), label it “Default.”
- Show the 3-knob style recipe card: Shapes, Lines, Color (write 2 choices under each).
- Redraw the same subject 3 times, changing only one knob per pass.
- Assemble a 2x2 or 3x3 grid: baseline + variants + final combined style.
- End by giving a blank “art style recipe” template viewers can screenshot.
Everyone wants an art style. Almost nobody wants to run the experiment.
